Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Axton is the very first male dragon who carries the name Dhelweard on his lineage. Since no one has seen a stone dragon fly, he uses his wings as his weapons instead to protect his children, flapping them and wielding them like swords. Thus, he was named Axton, which was derived from an old English name which means the swordsman's stone. He shares the same principle with Lustria, his first and only mate, in protecting the young dragons. After a successful breeding with Lustria, he decided to be only with her. Despite his size and cold features, he is gentle and loyal to his mate. During the night, when everyone is asleep, he goes outside, far from their cave and flaps his wings, making powerful strokes in attempt to fly. Whether he succeeded or not, no one really knows except himself.
