Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sofyia is the Uncita clan's "star". He keeps his distance from danger, but gives justice to his clan. Being the clan's mascot comes to a high price: the loss of Sofyia's siblings. He was taken as an egg with five others: but they had to be killed after not agreeing to another clan's agreement. The Uncita clan agreed to give back all six eggs to them by dawn, but the Uncita clan forgot and raised the eggs to adulthood. The neighboring clan was very mad, and demand all six dragons up. But Sofyia, the bravest dragon of the group, flew into the sky and showed off his glowing wings. Each pattern of glittering speckle gave off a message. The other clan let Sofyia stay with the Uncita clan, while the five other dragons were killed after not wanting to go with them. Sofyia is a brave dragon that speaks with light.
