Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Carmaja is a fierce warrior who takes pleasure in merely killing without reason. His bad attitude tends to get him into more scraps, and by the time he reached maturity, he had scars across his stomach, chest, face, neck, and back from fights he had picked with the other dragons or with wild dragons. Carmaja's behavior has made him unwanted, and he has been cast out of the Clans. Not even Issa and Pumzika, the two outcasts, will have anything to do with him, and as such, Carmaja spends his days alone and lunging at anything that moves. He is a fierce creature, but he is only lonely at heart for a companion.
