Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An extremely twisted and manipulative dragon, Gunther plans to take over the world, using other dragons to do his dirty work, because he can't do it all himself. His reasons for doing this are just as twisted as he is—he wants to rule to world in order to 'purify' it from the vile taint that is humanity. He truly believes that he has to destroy everything in order to help the world regain order, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.<br/>At first, when he was younger, Gunther was a sweet, gentle dragon, but a horrible encounter with a hatchling hunter left him scarred and jaded against humans, plotting the end of the human race even before he had grown his wings. Hatchling hunters hunt hatchlings so they can drain the blood out of the defenseless dragons for use in spells or to sell on the black market, due to the magical properties of dragon's blood. Gunther only stays on the scroll because Youkoartemis is still somewhat useful. He appears to have a soft spot for Rosa.
