Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Nessy may appear fairly scary at first glance, but in reality, she is quite friendly and gentle. She enjoys giving people rides across the sea; although she prefers salty water, any will do. Nessy is very intelligent, even among dragons, and very gentle but playful. She enjoys kids the most.

Unlike most of her breed, she doesn't mind surfacing as long as the sun is hidden by clouds, of course, the bright light of the direct sun makes Nessy panicky and violent until she's safely hidden in the darker parts of the water. After an unfortunate incident before her human mother realized this, the small lake on the property was deepened considerably, thanks to her other dragons, while her mother sat inside with a broken leg and a broken arm.

Nessy was one of the first eggs that her mother picked up so they always had a connection, despite the many accidents that occurred over the years with the sunlight; of course, this is why a tarp hangs over the whole lake, giving it constant shade.
