Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Golden Musician- commonly referred to as "Goldy"- is an extremely vain dragon. Though, vain could be considered an understatement seeing how she is always looking for a glimpse of her appearance- even going to the extremes of diving in mid-flight to catch a glimpse of her gleaming scales in the river that snakes its way near the cave. It is an unspoken agreement around the cave to always keep a crystal polished to avoid the drama that could be caused by her. The only dragon among her many cave mates who knows that Goldy does have another side, is her mate, Nightly Gloom. Gloom knows how caring and gentle Goldy can be if given the chance. He also knows how much it kills her to see all their offspring end up being another Black, matching their father, instead of the bright glow of a Gold. All she's ever wanted to do is pass down her legacy to a daughter or son. Until then, she smiles, nods, and looks in a mirror.
