It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vyra is a motherly and quiet dragon. She prefers to stay off to the side, watching as other dragons go about their day. However, some days she isn't seen at all, leaving some to wonder where the Purple dragon goes. If the others were to know, though, she'd be thrown in the dungeons before she could even explain. The violet dragon slinks off to one of the nearby villages that's just barely within the castle's domain where she is happily greeted by the humans there. She is treated kindly by the people, being fed what they can offer, and getting a day just to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere. The tiny villagers are always sad to see her leave, and half way back to the castle she's already thinking about her next trip.
