Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kesariol is a Red dragon and the son of RedMarlenn the Red and RiverAubrus the Striped. He is very curious about different kinds of dragons, and always pesters his owner for knowledge. On learning that some Red dragons live in abandoned castles, he immediately decided he wanted to do so too. The trouble was that there weren't any castles nearby, let alone abandoned ones, and he didn't want to leave his family. He solved the problem by deciding to build his own castle. Kesariol has only the vaguest idea of what castles look like, so the stone structure which he is setting up looks slightly abstract, and as the stones he uses are of all kinds, very colorful. He loves being with hatchlings, as he is playful and childlike by nature, and the hatchlings enjoy helping him build his castle.
