Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Emphemeral Oasis was a young dragon, he fell in love with the female Sunset Uzarah Malflame. He loved her dearly, and would go out of his way to make her happy. They even had two children together. But after their second egg hatched, something in Uzarah changed. She started ranting of Sunrise and Sunset superiority, and pure blood. Emphemeral was terribly confused and upset, so he tried to find the perfect gift for her to make her calm down. He searched for a whole month, and came back with a huge perfect pearl.

But as he entered his den, he was horrified to find that Uzarah had replaced him, and a young Sunrise male called Deresketh Eventide was doting on his love. Emphemeral was never the same.

A young female Autumn named Autumna Pride let him stay in her den while he nursed his emotional wounds, and helped him pick up the pieces of his shattered heart. They grew close, and soon he fell in love anew. He and Autumna now have a large family of their own, and couldn't be happier.
