Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Bucephalus Purple is a depressive. Partly it's being purple that does it - purple is the colour of death and all that. But mostly it's not having claws. He really, really minds that. He can't rip his food apart like the others, and they laugh at him when he has to hold it down with one hoof and tear at it with his teeth. It is particularly frustrating as he is so very good at hunting that he will often help the others by stalking and catching prey that they could never win - and he will give some delectable morsel to one of them, and although they say thanks, they never stop  teasing. So he sulks and then gallops off into the sky - which is something the others do wish they could do - though they would never admit it. When he reincarnates - as he believes all dragons do after death - he wants to be Pegasus. The REAL Pegasus. With a place in history and everything.
