Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A quiet and mysterious dragon, Jhena prefers to keep to the dunes of the desert she calls home.  Although she sunbathes during the daytime, the night is a guilty pleasure for her; she enjoys watching for the meteors in the sky that the Antareans supposedly came from.  Jhena rarely strays far from her den, though, which is small a cave hidden amongst the dunes.  Her mate, Hyrix, is away from home the majority of the time, so she is a solitary dragon by circumstance.  When watching the stars as she so often does, occasionally she wonders if perhaps Hyrix is gazing upon the same stars as she is.
