Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is quite serene and has a pair of tendrils growing from its back.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This Avatar unlocked her creative powers long before she was able to control them, and as a result her magic is rather chaotic. Flowers bloom in her footsteps, though often they do not resemble any plants seen in the Cave before. Where her tendrils graze the ground, the grass changes color, and strange spiraling patterns trail behind her. Ironically, her own growth has been stunted—possibly by the inbreeding that caused her lack of control. She is able to heal small creatures, but with unpredictable side effects. (These effects are almost never harmful to the creature, though she once gave a rabbit a third eye.) She has never attempted to heal a dragon, and is unable to use her powers on herself. Though some dragons are frightened of her odd creations, others see beauty in their uniqueness. As for the Avatar herself, she sees her magic as a gift, both to herself and those affected by it. In her eyes, purple grass and winged cats make the Cave a more interesting place.
