Gilgrot Dragons are widely known for their cranky attitudes and extremely antisocial behaviors, manifesting in a heavy preference for solitude and a scant handful of sightings outside the comforts of their lairs. Due to this excessive preference for seclusion, Gilgrot Dragons will go to great lengths to avoid others of their own kind. It is for this reason that settlements nearest a Gilgrot lair will fashion a statue or bust upon a building in their likeness to ward off any opportunistic and exploratory Gilgrots. Their awful eyesight will cause them to mistake even the poorest of imitations for the true thing, successfully deterring all but the most determined individuals. Gilgrot Dragons are otherwise peaceful, if mischievous, creatures. When deep in the heart of a Gilgrot’s territory, one might bare witness to it standing statue still, basking in the sun.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
