Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shimmer is a curious dragon who lives with a group of male and female Swallowtails. She had a 'splendid' heritage, so Shimmer was immediately allowed into the group. She is a snoop, always eavesdropping and looking through other dragon's things. She isn't malicious about it though. Shimmer only wants to know things. She'd put the objects back and would never tell any secrets.

Her hobby soon quieted down ever since she found herself a mate. She had taken a liking to a male named Shaking and they started a relationship. Because her mate is a rather timid dragon, Shimmer made it her duty to try and get him to be more outgoing. Her goal has started to reach completion recently, with her mate becoming much friendlier than before, and some of the Swallowtails fear that she's going to go back to sneaking again.

Shimmer is just as curious about the dragons who are rejected from the group as any other thing. Her mate doesn't like to talk about them, so Shimmer hasn't gotten to do anything yet.
