Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon is quite the hot-blooded creature. Well actually she's cold blooded. But after letting her fins soak up the sun for a few hours, that ceases to matter. She enjoys nothing more than barreling around the land, roaring and shrieking and causing a ruckus. She will fight with nearly any dragon she runs into, losing her temper over the smallest of events. Her preferred method of attack-charging skull-first into an attacker-has given her her name. Maybe she's just letting out her frustrations about the fact that that beautiful daydream dragon never comes down from his cloud to talk to her...

Despite her madness during the day, however, she falls asleep as soon as the sun goes down and takes its energy-giving heat with it.
