Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Born under the sight of his sister, Veil, Ozone loved flying around his big sister's domain, showing her his new little flips and tricks that he would learn almost weekly. He secretly looks up to her, but as he matured he began to take independence. Exploring the endless Trophosphere for hours on end, he normally worried his sister sick, because he hardly ever ate or slept. Once he had seen just about all he could see, he collapsed in a mountain range near Greenland. Looking to the sky when he awoke, he saw the most beautiful thing he ever laid his eyes on: an aurora. From that day forward, he always told the tale of the exquisite light show that brought him back to life. Veil, being a daydream dragon, always smiled and listened to the story she created for him.
