Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cheryl is a bit of a loner, wandering from the cave in search of the icy mountains she frequents. Her call is a soft trill which seems to ring in the howling winds of a blizzard. The only dragon she is really ever seen interacting with is Geralt, who seems to have taken a shine to Cheryl, even offering her gold and gems from his hoard. Cheryl's gentle nature makes her one of her tamer's kinder dragons who loves to bestow gifts of gems upon the other dragons in her cave. She is quite attached to her tamer, allowing her to pet her head and stroke her chin as she emits a pleasant trilling noise.
