Caligene Dragons have long been considered omens of death—reinforced by the skeletal markings on their bodies. They exert a malignant force on the world around them, causing other living things to slowly waste away in their presence. Caligenes favor the seasons of summer and autumn, disappearing entirely from the forests they inhabit during winter and spring. These malevolent dragons are physically weak, though this is countered by their natural stealthiness and alarming speed—enabling them to close in on large targets quickly and silently to create ambushes from which prey cannot escape.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

In theory, the nine Alphas of the tribe-pack of Revenga are equals, but in reality there is a pecking order among them, albeit one that is always shifting as different individuals jockey for position. To outsiders, they present a unified front, but they are always testing each other and angling for power. If any one of them is the most powerful and most commonly on top of the heap, it's Pyroclast. Her egg was found in a part of Galsreim with several active volcanoes, and some would swear that lava boils in her veins instead of blood. Pyroclast is tense and focused. Any hint of disrespect is met with instant aggression, though she is willing to listen to dissent that is respectfully expressed. She is wise enough to use the strengths of her fellows, and to allow them to step forward when their talents make them especially useful. But no one seriously questions for long that Pyroclast is in ultimate command of the pack, and by extension, their tribe of offspring.
