Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

King Lucius, despite what her name suggests, is in fact female. Her name came about through a mistake during her hatchlinghood, for she was the first in her clan to be hatched. Lucius is the undisputed leader and protector of the clan and can always be found wrapped around the entrance to Clan Cave with her great wings folded, guarding her vast foster family. Above all else, Lucius is objective and logical. Her quiet, even-tempered tolerance makes her esteemed by even the most belligerent of the clan and a strong base that all can turn to at need. She is fond of her clan and enjoys her station, especially because she is not required to move often. The sight of a giant stone dragon with glowing red eyes perched above a cave entrance in the fog generally makes any casual visitor strongly consider turning back more often than not. The Clan Cave, in which Lucius and her clan lives, is in a group of cliffs located a short distance to the west of the original Dragon Cave.
