Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When keepers spotted two frill eggs—the first in many years—in the frill enclosure at the Royal Menagerie, they were sure that somebody had played a joke on them. When the eggs proved both quite real and viable, the keepers decided to ask the public to help them name the resulting hatchlings, with predictable results. Penkiun fared slightly better than Efcy, as her top name choices were actually things that could be shouted across an enclosure without embarrassment. She's named after her parents, but the keepers think they should have gone with Surprise instead, because any human who enters her part of the enclosure is likely to get one. Penkiun has learned from experience to leave the other dragons alone, but humans are another matter. She won't harm or directly confront anyone, but she likes to make her keepers jump by popping out from behind a bush.
