It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One day a little purple hatchling decided to go exploring. However, he was very young and soon became very lost. He cried for help but none came. Eventually he found a scary cave littered with broken green egg shells and pointy sticks. He found a small crevice and shivered until he fell asleep.

Hours later he awoke to the cacophony of chaotic destruction. A giant claw grabbed and securely held him before flying into the air. "I am a Guardian of Nature. You are safe now..." The gentle voice of the large dragon telepathically lulled the little one to sleep.

The purple hatchling awoke sitting in the lap of a human female. She petted the young purple dragon as he watched the large GoN depart with a a varied group of dragons. Now named AI (or Abandonment Issues), he is always around several dragons so he is never alone. Occasionally the GoN returns and asks for other dragons to join the next quest. AI fears the details of those quests more than he fears ever leaving home again.
