Hellhorse Dragons are foul-tempered, spirited creatures with tempestuous and violent dispositions. Torrents of scorching flames erupt from their bodies and can easily set their surroundings ablaze. Highly aggressive and territorial toward other dragon species, Hellhorses will tolerate others as long as they believe the association to be beneficial. Such alliances are tenuous in nature and frequently short-lived, as the slightest disagreement can easily escalate into a full-out brawl.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Copper Nuria and Yarina Nuria were still hatchlings, Bourkan Nuria brought an egg to the human Ember that he had found in the volcano ranges of Montis Cremo. Ember had never seen this egg before, so she raised it wondering what it could be. Vanhi Nuria hatched with what the other dragons called a mini explosion. Bursts of blue flame announced her entry to the world, and those same flames follow her even now. Vanhi was a fiery-tempered hatchling, and she often got in brawls with Copper. It was only because of Yarina the Soulpeace dragon that these fights were never long or deadly. When Vanhi Nuria discovered that she was found in a volcano, she left the mountains of Elgar to return to her home. Vanhi still comes back to visit Ember a couple of times a year, as she is the only human or dragon Vanhi trusts.
