Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Though Yossarian is a dragon and is meant for the air, she hates to fly. She is convinced that the other dragons are trying to kill her and sees flying as an unnecessary risk that she is not willing to take without it being absolutely necessary. She spends most of her day just basking on the sides of the sun soaked beach of Pianosa, letting the insects come to her rather than chase them. At night she will on occasion take to the wing but this is only if she didn't get her fill on land during the day. She loves to swim and will swim and walk all the way to Rome if shes bored. Once she even swam all the way to Sweden when she thought that one of the other dragons was going to kill her.

Shes also kind of a flirt when it comes to male dragons. She is very affectionate and often telepathically tells people that she loves them after just meeting them. She is loyal for the most part unless she has reason to think that you are conspiring against her. She doesn't need much of a reason.
