Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Many men tell tales about a fiery dragon, with scales like forged armour, that destroys everything in its wake. They say its nature is ceaseless hunger, and that life becomes a void beneath the shadows of its wings. They say many before have tried to kill the fell beast only to fail, because it is impossible to fight what does not think. People are quick to dismiss these tales as the ramblings of mad men, but when sleep comes to claim them, then they will realise as they dream of the world ending not in fire or ice but with a single lone dragon reducing all to dust.
