Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ebony Heart is an unusual warrior dragon. While the other warriors emphasize the physical aspect of their battle abilities, she emphasizes the magical aspects. Ebony Heart studies all the types of magic; the practical magic of the magis. the healing magic of the white dragons, the warrior magics of the various warriors, and even the fairy magic of the nearby fairies. She practices them all separately and in unusual combinations in her role as a warrior. She is also different from the other female warrior dragons, in that she focuses more on her femininity than the other female warriors. None of these differences changes the fact that she is an able warrior, in her own way.
