Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Green Colt's Foot is one of Phoenix's dragons. The hatchling of Timberstrider and the ex-medic, Tinselfrost, he is a shy, nervous little creature with a strange gift for singing. Predictably, he much prefers Christmas carols.

Colt is often picked on by the other hatchlings for his appearance -- though he looks like any other Yulebuck hatchling, he is still seen as something of a misfit for his appearance, often being called names along the lines of a "scaly mutton chop" or "sheep-butt," among other things. He doesn't have many friends except for Feathers Unmarred, an equally socially-inept white hatchling. He tends to take criticisms very personally and his feelings are easily hurt, further contributing to his general dislike of crowds and strangers.
