Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tail of the Whipping Boy tends to be a rash hothead.  One day, her trainer's younger brother threw a rock at her.  It missed, but the angered whiptail proceeded to knock the boy down with her long tail and continually beat him on the fanny with it.  The screams of the young boy brought the trainer running.

"Stop it," the trainer exclaimed.  "What do you think you're doing"

The dragon explained what happened, and at the end said, "I'm the whipping boy."  She tends to get syntax mixed up sometimes.

Though not amused at her little brother getting beaten so soundly, the trainer laughed at the error in grammar.  From then on, the whiptail was called, 'Tail of the Whipping Boy'.
