Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Late one night a small, white egg was found at the entrance to the cave, ice cold to the touch. In an act of kindness the egg was taken in and warmed and loved. At first it seemed too late for the hatchling inside. Finally after hours of waiting, the egg began to tremble, then to crack and chirp. When the hatchling emerged, white and sickly looking, it was named Amadi, meaning destined to die at birth. Even though he hasn't grown much since his hatching Amadi is now an affectionate and healthy young dragon who loves nothing more than making new friends and napping in his humans lap.
