Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Firagus is a relatively large Magma Dragon; despite his intimidating size, he is actually a gentle giant.  He lives in a large lava chamber nestled deep within his master's cave, where there is ample food available to sustain himself.  He is quite docile, and would rather take the nonviolent route when it comes to skirmishes.  Despite this, however, he has a terrifyingly fearsome side; if angered to the point that he snaps, or one of his fellow dragons is in harm's way, his entire body will spontaneously combust into flames, and he will proceed to launch a devastating beam of lava from his mouth after a rather frightening roar.

Even after many dragons have seen his fierce side, they still consider Firagus to be one of the most gentle, and as a result, one of the most caring of dragons in his master's cave; they understand that he is always there to protect them should the need arise.
