Feather ball is a game much beloved by hatchlings.  It is a sport similar to soccer except the ball is a chicken.  With every kick, the chicken flies through the air, streaming feathers and squawking in panic.  So it should be obvious why chickens are not fans of the sport.  One day, having gotten tired of the constant paranoia caused by never knowing when they would get kicked into a game of feather ball, the chickens decided to elect one of their members to the honorary position of Feather Ball Ball.  Since clearly, no chicken would volunteer for the position, it was declared that it would be a temporary position held by a different chicken every week.  The Feather Ball Ball would then be responsible for presenting herself to the hatchlings at the beginning of her designated week.  As the practice continued, the second ball of the title was dropped as the chickens felt it was bad form to have the repetition of words in a title.  And so Feather Ball was born, quite to her dismay.
