Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nysithis has struggled ever since she was killed and reborn as a vamp. She was repulsed from her mother and was left to defend for herself as she grew up, coming close to being killed during her hatchling days by other dragons out of her species. As she reached adulthood she was severely injured by a spitfire and was crippled and lost the strength in her right leg, being unable to fight off other dragons that defended her victuals. Though she struggled, she had formed a strong bond with a drifting vampire Nivarr. When she had failed to feed and was on the verge of starvation he came in and aided her. Feeling a sense of loyalty and safety being around him, she followed him wherever he went and the two became inseparable and had even created new additions in their group by fruitfully biting eggs together. Their pack grew as they roamed, adopting stragglers and repulsed hatchlings. This Clan continues to expand while gradually becoming feared for being an undead army on the rising growth.
