Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

CheeryAutumnHarvest is a happy Seasonal Dragon hatchling. Though his father, AutumnShiveringBreeze, is a lone wolf sort, CheeryAutumnHarvest is outgoing and has many friends. He is well liked, and almost all of the hatchlings of his cave get along with him, except for BurningDarkDemon, a Red Dragon hatchling bully, who has often been known to beat up CheeryAutumnHarvest and other hatchlings.
