Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Maniraan was always a kind dragon despite his rocky start in life.

When he hatched he was small for his species. It was because his egg had been in the cold for 2 days before Meepas found him. Meepas knew no one else would take the egg if it was already sitting for two days, but she wouldn't leave Maniraan's egg out to die. Meepas took Maniraan's egg and worked her hardest to make sure it hatched and, despite all odds against him, Maniraan hatched an hour before time was up. He had very beautiful green scales at hatching. Meepas continued to care for him. She always held Maniraan high when there was a breeze, because she understood how bad Maniraan wished to fly even though he had no wings. Then one fateful day, Meepas was delighted to see that Maniraan had grown small, but still promising, wings! She knew Maniraan was maturing. He finally matured a full 10 hours before death! He was large now, but still a gentle giant. He now helps care for younglings.
