Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Turbidite loves watching thunderstorms, but will fly only in the mildest ones.  During the really violent storms she sits somewhere high up.  Anywhere that is tall, and which she can get to, will do for her.  She has no home, but is content to be a nomad; her travels bring her in contact with many other dragons.  One fall day she paused at a mountain lake to drink, never realizing that there was a magi dragoness concealed nearby.  Turbidite flew away soon after, not noticing that the dragoness had cast a spell upon her which would freeze her as a hatchling forever.  It was months later that Turbidite realized what had been done, but she had no idea when or what had frozen her.  Now she sails the winds, still enjoying thunderstorms, but always hunting for the one who froze her.
