Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Just like earth he resembles, Desert is a solid, stoic, near silent dragon of great stature. He quietly wanders the desert with a number of other dragons, serving as one of their protectors. He almost never speaks, partly because his voice is so gravelly and deep any words that come out are unintelligible. He appears to be quite intelligent for a Stone Dragon, especially when it comes to combat. He doesn't simply rely on his strength (though that alone can take care of most threats easily), he also makes use of sand traps and distraction tactics to throw enemies off or drive them away. It is believed he does this to avoid killing foes, which he seems to have an aversion to, though he has never explained the exact reason why. Though not outwardly showing it (or any emotion for that matter) Desert cares a lot for other dragons and wants to protect them. He is as solid as an anchor, unflinching and unwavering in his resolve. It's no wonder he is so widely respected in his pack.
