Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sad Little Blackwing came from a family where his dad was a proud Gold dragon and his mom was an exotic Black Dragon, but they were so obsessed with gold and their appearances that they never paid any attention to plain Little Blackwing.  No one else in the family cared about anything but treasure, so Little Blackwing ran away.  Jody took him in and cared for him, so he does know love and has some friends now.  Even though Jody and the other dragons are so kind, sometimes he just feels like he will always be small and sad.
