Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zlost is full of rage. He relishes in the power he has been given as a Vampire. When the thirst for blood first came to him he felt nothing but joy. He does not take the caution of most Vampires, sticking to secluded areas and aiming not to kill. He prefers to be known and feared. He terrorizes cities of humans, and colonies of dragons looking only to cause bloodshed. Even when he is not thirsty he wish enjoys causing chaos. He does not know why he is like this, but he doesn't care. He was turned into a Vampire at a young age, and served under the Vampire that turned him, learning everything he could. This Vampire was cautious and Zlost resented him for it. Once he felt as though there was nothing more to learn and that his creator was useless to him, the dragon became his first victim. From that point on he has simple wandered the countryside. He has been a legend people tell to keep children and hatchlings near home, but sadly sometimes they must discover that the legend is real.
