Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Smokyhiss is the eighteenth eldest of Clematis Cave.

Smokyhiss is an aggressive, benevolent, wary dragon unable to trust many others. Due to the acidic saliva that Black dragons carry, he won't stick around other dragons for too long, fearing he would hurt someone somehow. However, he feels the need to prove himself a worthy member of the cave. This behavior is most prominent in battle, where he fights so aggressively and wildly that his battle style may seem unpredictable at times.

He is an adept warrior and is not afraid to take on anyone in combat, especially if his fighting prowess is challenged. Additionally, he is said to be a very agile, talented flier. He will attempt to outmaneuver his opponent if they prove to be stronger than him.

He seems to particularly enjoying hunting. He prefers to perform this at night, as his scales give him better cover. He usually takes down large animals, as he turns most of what he does daily into a challenge.
