Hailing from northern climes, the Boreal Dragon prefers cold, snowy weather. A very secretive and solitary breed, they rarely descend from the mountains they call home. The breed communicates over long distances via loud, low-pitched bellows. These calls often cause avalanches at the peril of any creature unable to run or fly away to safety.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Mons Nix—"Mountain Snow" in Latin. Going by Nix, this elusive dragon is rarely seen, only when the weather turns cold enough that she feels comfortable venturing into town from the towering mountains among which she resides. Her presence is intimidating and mysterious, both due to her elusiveness and style of speech. Words often short and cryptic, she leaves others wondering if she is either very wise or just very socially awkward. The latter would make more sense, considering she doesn't really get out much, but Nix's air of serenity more often elicits quiet awe rather than negative skepticism.
