Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Savage has been markedly scarred by the murder of her first successful egg by her rightful mate. She released the child in hopes of gifting her new lineage to other families, and was met with the news that the egg had been crushed by the very hands that vowed to protect it. Savage has since become more reserved, always a proud dragon as it were, she has enormous amounts of disdain for outsiders not of her flock and doesn't trust seemingly friendly faces. Despite all she has been through, Savage and her mate plan to still create a proud brood of their own. Strong willed and determined, Savage is difficult to trust anyone until they prove they aren't self-serving and cruel. She is known for being haughty, but when confronted on her behavior will correct it and apologize. Despite her shortcomings, Savage is a kind soul with a rough exterior, and only wishes the best for her fellow dragons in all walks of life.
