Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Orsina was raised by her mother, and has only seen her father once. Her personality is similar to that of her mother, Idoya Emer; she is a merciful hunter who is somewhat hardened by her experience.

Although she is still young by dragon standards, Orsina is larger than even some red dragons, and very well-muscled. Her face was somewhat rounded at hatching, which gave rise to her name.

Orsina owes her brusque personality to an event involving her father, a vine dragon who went underground and only came up for breeding season. She went to his marsh, after prying his location out of her mother, and foolishly walked over it on foot. Suddenly vines sprang up from the ground, and she was entangled. It was only by using her battle magic that she escaped, flying back home with a limp. Now she is always on the lookout for betrayal by others.
