Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Faustino comes and goes at the mixed adoptive cave where he was raised. Out in the lake, he has become good friends with Slinky and occasionally visits Pukka and his daughter in their lagoon. He can be abrasive and rough spoken and has been in more than his fair share of scraps because of it, his crested head scarred over many times from his encounters. Sometimes he gets it into his head that he wants to teach the hatchlings to fight. This inevitably leads to a scolding from Kiliki or a snap from Grenar if he gets to him first.
