Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Reffi hates the whole idea of mating, especially the idea of mating with an "appropriate" male, something her family is very fond of. She refused several potential mates her mother introduced her to and went and had affairs with other "less suitable" dragons instead just to thwart her parents' controlling attitude. But after a while it got too stupid for her. She didn't love any of her potential mates, but she didn't want to hurt them either, so finally she just moved as far away from her parents as possible and now lives her own life: without mate, without hatchlings, and without meddling parents.
