Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Topthorn is often found in the mountains hunting all sorts of animals, and if not, he's training himself to become even stronger than he already is. He's usually the one given the task to hunt for food for meats. His rival, Snow Fire (white adult), is usually given the job of collecting plants for food. Topthorn and Snow Fire are often found competing on who can gather most food by the end of the day, so it usually keeps a good food supply within the cave. They also compete with strength, loyalty to leaders and the elderly, raising eggs and hatchlings abilities, and speech abilities, so their competition usually keeps the cave in better shape than it would be without them competing. Unfortunately, Topthorn often picks fights with Snow Fire sometimes causing injuries to close bystanders of the fight, and frequently dealing heavy injuries to Snow Fire as well.
