Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

BrightCrimsonDorsal is a Dorsal Dragon hatchling with a temper. He is constantly picking fights with other hatchlings. He is a bully, but even other bullies are afraid of him. BrightCrimsonDorsal is young, but he is quick and mean. He loves to see the look in the eyes of another hatchling just before he attacks them. His favorite things to do to other dragon youths are tail-twisting, kicking, and smashing hatchling's head into the mud. BrightCrimsonDorsal is respected by all hatchlings in his cave, out of pure fear.
