Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rajani Negri—a dragon whose heart is as black as her scales. She delights in dealing pain to all those around her, including any young that she does not simply abandon. She feels that young hatchlings need to grow up with a healthy dose of misery and pain in order to better grow into strong and hardened dragons. Certainly the bane of her weir, Rajani is content to ignore all the other adults and they return the favor; fighting with her is no easy task, as the sleek black dragon is a formidable fighter. Rajani continues to roam with growing irritation as she seeks out a perfect mate who's ideals she can share. Once such a perfect mate is found she'll overthrow the weir and from there—who knows what else.
