Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Once upon a time Shoogle and Nifty had two eggs instead of one for the first time. As darkness fell that night they cuddled the twin warmly between them, and slept peacefully. When sunset came however, terror came upon the two dragons: one of their eggs had disappeared! Beside the remaining egg a note was found: "You may only keep one egg, the other has been abandoned." Shoogle, Nifty, their adult children and even the human Mirhana launched a frantic search. Fortunately their precious egg was found abandoned near the entrance of a cave not far away.
Manach hatched simultaneously with his brother Maduinn, yet his rather lonesome start in life seems to have left its marks. He prefers solitude and living in a sober way, like a monk. Mostly he sits above the entrance of the family's cave no matter whether it rains or storms, watching over those that come and go. Never will the tall Guardian seek company and chatter himself, or even food: he eats only when his worried parents tell him to.
