Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stoirm has migrated here from another range of mountains in Alba. Abandoned as a hatchling, he got caught in a fierce storm and was blown far away. Although he tried to find his way back home, he had no idea in which direction home lay. Finally, having nowhere else to go, he grew tired of his travels and tried to settle somewhere among these particular mountains in the Highlands of Alba. Unfortunately, Stoirm is looked down upon and shunned by the Ice and Winter dragons already living in this area. They believe in the purity of their races and are intolerant towards dragons with a different lineage, easily recognizing him for the half-blood that he is. Although Stoirm lives on the edge of society, he has found himself a cleverly hidden cave covered with fir trees and intends to makes it his new forever home. He has noticed another Winter dragon residing all alone in a spacious cavern nearby, but she seems very withdrawn and does not respond to his calls.
