Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This beautiful creature was caught at a young age by a certain cult, which believed that the only way to atone for their filthiness was by offering up sacrifices of the most pure beings they could find. Despite the terrified dragon's pleas, she soon found herself bound to an altar, a knife raised over her heart, her death certain--until the most magnificent dragon she had ever seen appeared with a roar from the clouds above, driving her attackers off and freeing her. Grateful beyond expression, she made it her duty to tag along beside her savior and serve him however she could, despite his insisting that she needn't bother--and as time passed and her hero proved his kindness again and again, that devotion slowly turned to the truest of love. The two now spend their days roaming the land in bliss, always quick to help those in need, and it's with a light heart that the Sunsong realizes the one for whom she would most gladly offer up her life is him.
