Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hufflepuff Forever is a happy hatchling, content with his childhood. He didn't choose eternal youth; it was forced upon him, and he would have preferred to mature to adulthood, but apparently that wasn't meant to be. When he was first frozen, Hufflepuff Forever was mildly upset and sought for a way to undo it. But of course it's permanent. Luckily Hufflepuff Forever was so good-natured he didn't mind.
